Epoxy Resin L + Hardener S (15 min)
Epoxy Resin L + Hardener S (15 min)
Set of two components
- Free from nonylphenol, benzyl alcohol and DETA
- Low viscosity, solvent- and filler-free
- Fast impregnation of glass, aramid and carbon fibres
- High static and dynamic strength
- Low surface tension, good adhesion and low curing shrinkage
- Ideal for bonding wood, metal, Styropor® etc.
Epoxy resin L with the corresponding hardeners is the most frequently used laminating and bonding resin from the R&G product range.
Epoxy resin L with Hardener S has similar mechanical properties to the laminating systems commonly used in aircraft construction.
Processing time: 15 minutes (100 g / 20 °C)
Mixing ratio:
100 : 40 parts by weight Epoxy Resin L : Hardener S
100 : 45 parts by volume Epoxy Resin L : Hardener S
Curing time (at 23 °C): 16 - 24 hours
Cold hardening, hardens from 5 °C (low temperature hardener)
Heat distortion temperature: Approx. 65 °C
Processing:
It can be processed in all common processes such as hand lamination, pressure and vacuum impregnation as well as pressing and winding.
Material characteristics (pure resin cured) Epoxy Resin L with Hardener S:
| Flexural strength DIN EN ISO 178 in MPa | 110 |
| Bending E-modulus DIN EN ISO 178 in MPa | -- |
| Tensile strength DIN EN ISO 527 in MPa | 68 |
| Compressive strength DIN EN ISO 14126 in MPa | 116 |
CYTOX expert opinion on the Resin System Epoxy Resin L + Hardener S (see below under additional information): this system is not cytotoxic (cell-damaging), important for applications in medical technology.

Epoxy Resin L + Hardener GL 2 (210 min)
Epoxy Resin L + Hardener GL 2 (210 min)
Set of two components
Approval by the Germanische Lloyd for the construction of boats and rotor blades for wind turbines.
Mixing ratio:
100 : 30 parts by weight Epoxy Resin L : Hardener GL 2
100 : 35 parts by volume Epoxy Resin L : Hardener GL 2
Processing time: approx. 210 minutes*
*Measured with Gelnorm® gel timer: 100 g at 20 °C = approx. 210 minutes processing time).
(Temperature rise in the cup from 23 °C to 40 °C at 100 ml approx. 109 minutes
Properties:
- Extremely low-viscous (Mixing viscosity 250 mPas at 25 °C)
- Highly transparent (Colour index < 1 Gardner)
- Fully cures at 15 °C
- Glass transition temperature (Tg) > 85 °C (post-curing at 70 °C / 15 h)
- Ambient curing does not result in brittleness (at 20 °C)
- High static and dynamic strength
Suitable for the following processing procedures:
- Resin infusion (RI)
- RTM (resin transfer moulding)
- Press moulding
- Vacuum moulding
- Filament winding
- Hand laminating
The resin component itself is absolutely free of crystallization due to its Bisphenol A/F base! The resin system is ambient curing and develops no distinctive brittleness even at curing temperatures below 20 °C.
However, in order to improve the mechanical and physical properties, we recommend heat curing at a minimum of 40 °C for 15 h.
Processing times with Epoxy Resin L depending on the proportion of hardener GL 1 / GL 2*:
| Approx. pot life in minutes (100 g at 23 °C with Epoxy Resin L) |
Quantity of Hardener GL 1 in % |
Quantity of Hardener GL 2 in % |
| 210 | 0 | 100 |
| 150 | 10 | 90 |
| 125 | 20 | 80 |
| 100 | 30 | 70 |
| 85 | 40 | 60 |
| 60 | 50 | 50 |
| 50 | 60 | 40 |
| 43 | 70 | 30 |
| 38 | 80 | 20 |
| 34 | 90 | 10 |
| 30 | 100 | 0 |
*Both hardeners can be mixed as required. The mixing ratio of 100: 30 resin to hardener remains unchanged.
